Cheque Management Module
The Cheque Management Module helps you record, track, and manage cheque payments received from customers and issued to suppliers. It allows you to monitor the status of each cheque throughout its lifecycle.
Adding Cheque Payments
You can record cheque payments while creating a Sale or Purchase transaction.
Steps
- Create a Sale or Purchase transaction.
- In the payment section, select Cheque as the Payment Method.
- Enter the required cheque details, including the Due Date.
- Save the transaction.
The cheque will automatically be added to the Cheque Management Module.
Viewing and Editing Cheques
Once a cheque has been recorded, you can view and update its details from the Cheque Management Module.
Steps
- Go to Cheque Management.
- Locate the required cheque.
- Click View/Edit.
- Update the cheque details if required and save the changes.
Cheque Categories
The module organizes cheques into two separate tabs:
- Cheque Received – Displays cheques received from customers against Sales.
- Cheque Issued – Displays cheques issued to suppliers against Purchases.
This separation makes it easier to manage incoming and outgoing cheque payments.
Changing Cheque Status
You can update the status of a cheque as it progresses through the banking process.
Steps
- Go to Cheque Management where you can find the list of cheques.
- Click the Update Status button.
- Update the Cheque Status.
- Save the changes.
Example Statuses
You can update the cheque status as it moves through different stages, such as:
- Submitted to Bank
- Cleared
- Bounced
- Cancelled
Keeping the cheque status up to date helps you accurately track cheque processing and payment completion.
